Interview with Deathknight
Q: Why don't we take a few minutes for you to tell us about yourself. Who
are you? Where do you come from?
A: Well, I'm a male from Helsinki, capital of Finland. I like a lot biking,
using computers and playing role-playing-games (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons). I also like making webpages a lot.
Q: Did you do any previous sites before Diablo II Inferno? If so, please
give us the addresses =).
A: Actually, I made a quite popular Grand Prix 2 page but it's down now.
I kept the site up for something like a year. I also had a "personal" page but it's down too =)
Q: How did you first get interested in Diablo?
A: In Diablo? Well actually, I was quite late with Diablo when I bought it,
maybe 9 months after the release. Anyway, I got really addicted with it and made an own Diablo clan, but, suprise
suprise, it's down too by now =)
Q: Nine months after the release? Shame on you! =) Anyway, you started Diablo
II Inferno one year ago, and now you've raised it to one of the top Diablo II sites on the net. Were there a lot
of ups and downs during this time?
A: Well, actaully during that time (one year ago) it really was an honor
to have a sub-domain. People (webmasters) were happy and there was not that kind of competition. If I talk about
the Inferno, we were really excited when we got our small account at www.maxgaming.com/d2.
Q: How is the Diablo II Inferno different from any other Diablo II site?
A: Do you really need to ask that ;) Well, the Diablo II Inferno has always
had their own style in everything, for example layouts and newsupdating. We have tried many very unique ideas and
some of them really seem to work. The main reason why all of my other sites went down is that I could do my best
to keep our visitors satisfied at Diablo II Inferno.
Q: Any future plans for your site? Any big changes that we can look forward
to?
A: Me and Drayden are all the time working for improving the Inferno in any
ways. We are soon going to get new staff. The current project is to update the site that it is 100% "user
friendly". After that you can start to look forward to some really neat specials =)
Q: What do you see as the greatest improvement in Diablo II from Diablo I?
A: Well there are a lot of improvements =) but maybe the best thing is that
the multiplayer game will have so many new features. Personally I like a lot the idea that you gain the same unique
items in 1 game of 80000. If Blizzard completely gets eliminated the cheating it's even better!
Q: Which character class do you plan on playing first when you get Diablo
II and why?
A: This is a question that I've thought on many times without getting any
result. I don't think I want to play with the barbarian, I think it will be too easy (like the Warrior in Diabloi
=), maybe the Paladin or Amazon. Also the Ncromancer and Sorceress are quite intresting but I think I will play
with the Amazon or Paladin.
Q: What do you think about the current status of the Diablo II community?
A: The Diablo II community? You're kidding right? Is there really a community
at the moment? No, I don't think so and I don't think there ever will be a community like there once was. I think
the problem is that there are too many Diablo II sites on the net. This leads to competition, which leads to anger,
hate and a "non-community".
Q: Last question (a very important one =): If you could say one sentence
to the world, what would it be?
A: Live your life, do whatever you want, crazy or less crazy, we only live
once, and our life is too short to waste!
