PKing-A Personal Account
This is a personal account of life as a PK. What sparked this report
was a little harsh criticism of PKing by my dear friend Danfell. As some may know, I, Hardcore, was and always
will be a PK. I know it may hurt to find that out, you're all going to have to live with it. Danfell seriously
should stop being so goddamn stereotypical. Saying we're all cruel, mean, evil at heart, and bad company in chat
rooms! I mean seriously, man, I'm great company in a chat room!
One of the main goals people should have going into D2 is making some
friends they can play alongside. This will, in my opinion, be the only way to get away from PKs-fight them in numbers.
It seemed to me that in the original, the PKs were more dedicated to achieving their goal than the PKKs. PKKs were
a weak bunch; three quarters of them godded, and considered themselves noble. What really pisses me off is that
they all say "We don't god! We're not like you damn PKs!" That is such bullshit, seriously. I admit,
alot of the "good" PKs were fags. They didn't god, but instead, used hacks to up their mana to somewhere
around the 5K mark. I did that for about 2 weeks. To tell you the truth, I was less successful as a cheater than
I was legit. Originally, I had a level 38 legit mage that went by the name of Damien. Among legit players, he was
great. Sure, I lost a few ears along the way, but at least it was fun. I'd play co-op once in a while, but treachery
is kinda fun, it gives you a kind of tingly feeling. YOu have someone's trust, and you can break it.
Often I'd go into a game with the goal of collecting yet another ear.
I'd start playing alongside someone, get into a conversation with them, and then feel that they really don't deserve
to lose their ear. So I'd leave before I changed my mind. I have a heart, and if someone kinda grabs it, I leave
them alone. It just bugs me how ignorant people can be. Sometimes I'd use the old "I'm-a-shitty-newbie-ass-PK"
methods of getting a kill. You know the good-old "Send a TP... no PKs here, right?" I wouldn't usually
expect a response, but when someone actually sends the TP, how can you not feel sorry for how stupid they are?
My solution-Tell the person not to do that and then just leave.
I remember the first time I played Diablo online. I got my ass whooped
by a PK. I thought to myself "Why the hell did he do that?" So I tried it myself. It was actually a huge
rush! That's how it all started. You never know what it's like until you've done it. I don't condone cheating in
any way, but PKing is a completely different matter. If you can't defend yourself, then it will just urge you to
get better. That's all I have to say. It may all be incoherent, but I was just kinda throwing my thoughts into
the computer as they popped into my head. And for all you people who can't take a joke, I was just joking around
about Danfell being stereotypical and harsh...PeaCe
